SNK put the Orochi storyline on hold and threw a party instead: every character from the series up to that point, dead ones included, in the most finely balanced tournament the company ever pulled off. That's why it's still alive: more than twenty-five years later it's still played at international tournaments, especially in China and Latin America, where KOF is religion. Its Ultimate Match version keeps getting competitive tuning. Neo Geo forever.
