Camelot, the studio behind Shining Force, squeezed the GBA dry with Psynergy effects that looked like they belonged on 32-bit hardware, plus a Djinn system that could reshuffle entire character classes. Its story was cut clean in half: continuing into The Lost Age meant transferring your save with a monster password over 250 characters long — a ritual an entire generation copied out by hand in school notebooks.
