Conceived for the Nintendo 64 and its 64DD add-on, cancelled in 2000, and resurrected on the GBA, the closing chapter of Shigesato Itoi's trilogy is a tragedy about family, capitalism, and mechanical chimeras. Nintendo never released it outside Japan, so professional translator Clyde Mandelin led a legendary fan translation in 2008, offered to Nintendo free of charge. Its official absence in the West remains an open wound.
