Ready at Dawn made its debut as a studio with this spin-off that answers a lingering question: what did Daxter do during the two years Jak spent locked up between Jak 1 and Jak II. The answer: working as a pest exterminator armed with an electric flyswatter. Impeccably polished platforming, dream sequences spoofing movies like The Matrix, and a technical finish that plenty of PS2 games would have envied. A perfect calling card.
